Become a customer
Setting up with a licensed customs broker is genuinely simple: one power of attorney, one short profile, and we can file in your name at any US or Puerto Rico port. Here is everything, so nothing about the process is a mystery.
How setup works
The power of attorney is the document that lets a broker transact customs business in your name, and CBP regulations, 19 CFR part 111, require it to be executed directly between you and the brokerage. It cannot pass through a freight forwarder or another intermediary, and a broker who takes one that way is starting your relationship with a compliance problem. We send ours to you directly, walk you through it in English or Spanish, and countersign it the same way.
The customer profile is the short second piece: your legal name and address, your importer number, contacts, and enough about your goods for us to classify accurately and watch the right agencies. Most accounts are ready to file within a day of returning both documents.
After setup, each shipment needs its documents
Once the account exists, every entry is built from the shipment's commercial paperwork. Send these as early as you have them, ideally before the freight moves, and your entry can be ready before arrival:
To open the account
- Power of attorney, executed directly with the brokerage as 19 CFR part 111 requires. We provide the form and walk you through it.
- Customer profile: legal name, address, importer number, contacts, and a description of what you import.
For each shipment
- Commercial invoice with a proper description of the goods, quantities and values.
- Packing list.
- Certificate of origin, when a trade agreement claim applies.
- Bill of lading or air waybill.
FAQ
How long does it take to become a customer?
Usually a day or two once the power of attorney and profile come back. Urgent shipment already on the water? Call us; setup can move at the speed of your freight.
Why does the power of attorney have to be signed directly with you?
Because CBP regulations at 19 CFR part 111 require it. A POA routed through a forwarder or other intermediary is not validly executed, and we will not file on one.
Is there a fee to open an account?
No. You pay for the work we file, quoted in advance. Opening the account costs nothing.
Can you take over from my current broker?
Yes, and it is routine: a new POA with us, and your filings move over. Your entry history stays available to you either way, and we will tell you what to request from the outgoing broker.

Tell us what you import and where it lands. A licensed broker will confirm the setup steps and send the power of attorney the same day.
